I've wanted a French Bulldog.. Like.. Forever. Last summer the realization that all my boys would be in school all day, every day next year set in and I knew I'd need another pup to "mother." I started researching Frenchies so I could be 100% certain what I was getting into. We have a Lab and a Golden Retriever so I know all about the puppy thing, but I knew a Frenchie was going to have a very different personality!
I started saving up and planned on getting our new baby in August or September. Then I saw a picture of our guy, fell instantly in love, and HAD to have him! So we moved up our plans and here he is: Michael Palledorous!
We were tossing name ideas around the week before we picked him up and, being a baseball family, my boys loved the idea of naming him Squints after the character from The Sandlot! I like people named for dogs, so I suggested we go with Squints' real name, Michael Palledorous! We've been calling him Mike :)
If you're interested in becoming a French Bulldog owner, let me tell you two things.. 1) Be ready to fall obsessively in love and 2) If you're in the Midwest, check out Cummings French Bulldogs. I can not say enough great things about them! We dealt with Cristy and she was amazing to work with! She kept me updated on photos of our baby as we waited for him to be old enough to come home, she was very flexible on pick up day and time (which was great since we were coming from almost seven hours away), and she made the AKC registration process, vet records, and general puppy information SO easy!
