Working with Layers

Here it is! My very first video tutorial! I'm hoping to get a lot more of these made over the next week.. Some will be simple, short and free that I will post right here on The Blog and YouTube and some that will go into more depth that will be available for purchase in my shop (opening soon!!)

I made this video with a specific client in mind. She's asked me a few times about editing software that does not use layers. She says she hates layers and they're just too complicated... I hope this helps Crystal (and everyone else having the same frustrations) see the GOOD in layers and layers masks! PLEASE let me know what you think by leaving a reply!

Like I said, this is my first time ever doing this, so please be gentle!! :)

I think that was a nice short and sweet intro to layers. I am still scared of them so this helps ease my fears a little :/. My only question is that it stops after 'flatten image', so is this the final step? Does flatten integrate the new layer into your original? Thanks!

When you flatten the image, it makes it so the layers are no longer editable.. It does exactly that... Flattens the image so all the images are cemented into one layer (the background layer) You can still add new layers after an image has been flattened, but when you're finished with your edit, flatten the image and save as a JPEG :)

I stops pretty abruptly because my kids started screaming so I was trying to make it so I didn't have to re-record the whole thing haha.. They'll get better, I promise!

Ohhh. Yes. I love the way you edit. I used to be very proficient with photoshop but its been such a long time since I've done any editing. This is like a refresher course for me. Moar. Moar plz.

Oh jeez.. When I say, "low opacity brush" I meant to say, "soft edge brush!" :)
